SR HIGH youth group

Just wanted to remind you all that we WILL be having SR HIGH youth group on Sunday night.  However, we will be meeting at Central Assembly of God church for the Superior Youth Rally.  The event is from 6:30pm-8:00pm.  Rather than meeting at Bayside we are just having everyone go straight over to Central.  So we'll meet you there.

For the youth rally we will have worship (led by our very own youth worship band), games, a special message from Jim Hogan, testimonies and ice cream!

Hope you all can make it!

Night at the White House!

It has been so long - so many months since our last Night at the White House event.  In fact it has been over a year since we had one.  But now we can officially announce that we will be having Senior High Night at the White House on Friday, May 18.  This event will go from 7pm until 10pm and will be held at Pastor Tom and Sarah's house:

Let me explain.  As you can see from above our house is not white.  It is actually Castlestone.  Seriously.  But you probably just thought it was tan or a light shade of brown.  However, it used to be white and was white during the era that a man named Bush was serving as the President of the USA, and living in THE White House.  So when we decided to have youth group parties at our house it made sense to call it The Night at the White House.  Now that our house changed colors it just doesn't make sense to call it The Night at the Castlestone House, does it?

So we invite all senior high students to come to our house for food, games, videos, movies, wii, dancing and a huge party.  Friday, May 18.  7pm-10pm.  At the White House.  That is actually Castlestone.

Yep.

What do you want to do this summer?

This is a rare opportunity that I ask such a question.  We are in the planning stages of youth group stuff for the summer.  We have plans for what youth group will look like, but we are still thinking and praying about what special events we might have.  We already are planning on a Guys and Girls Night Out to start the summer off. And we always encourage all students to attend Wood Lake Bible Camp during summer camps in July.  But there might be room for one more big event for youth group.

So, got any ideas?  And NEW ideas?  There is the old faithful trip to Valleyfair.  Or we could potentially do a lock-in.  At Bayside?  Or at the Encounter Skate Park and gym in Duluth?

What do you think?  Make a post on this comment and share your thoughts.  We will take them into consideration as we plan and discuss our summer for youth group.

E3 this Sunday

This Sunday we invite all students to come and be a part of E3.  It is happening on Sunday night from 6:30pm-8:00pm.  We will not have our normal youth group activities for SR HIGH - however, all SR HIGH students are invited and encouraged to come to E3.  There will be free food afterwards!  E3 is a worship event that we have been hosting at Bayside for several years now.  It is meant to bring loud, contemporary, upbeat worship to all who want to draw closer to the throne of God.

It's going to be a great night.  Hope to see you there!

Old picture fun!

It has been fun going through some old photos of youth group events. This one I found in the pile of pictures from our 2007 Fall Unity Retreat at Flaming Pine Youth Camp. Pictured above are Becca Tunell and Falyn McCotter. In this picture they would have been in 6th grade! So this was their first ever youth retreat. Oh how fast you students grow up! Becca and Falyn are now in 10th grade!
